Our computers make plenty of daily tasks easier, but sometimes we have to give a little push for them to continue their jobs efficiently. Unfortunately, it is not always an obvious push - like knowing when caches need to be cleared. In short, caches are a part of your software or hardware that stores information so when you search for the information again, it will appear faster. When your dashboard is updated, you may experience errors since your cache stored information prior to the update. Below you will find step-by-step procedures on how to clear your cache. - Find your browser’s menu/settings
- The most efficient browser to view your Dashboard on is Google Chrome. If you are not using Google Chrome, refer to our article on how to download and install it here. Even if you clear your cache, you will most likely run into errors using other internet browsers.
- Your menu/settings will be located at the top right of your browser. The settings icon will either be three dots or three horizontal lines.
- There are two ways to find your cache settings. The first option to finding your settings for clearing caches would be through ‘history.’
- Click ‘history’ on your drop-down menu or press CTRL + H on your keyboard.
- An additional tab will pop up to the left. Click ‘history’ again on the left pop-up.
- Select ‘Clear browsing data’ on the left-hand side.
- You can choose to clear all data (history, cookies, cache) or just cache. There are several options to select for clearing, and you may select as many at once.
- Select ‘All time’ for your time range.
- Click the box to select ‘Cached images and files’ and then select clear data.
- The second option to find your browser's clearing settings is through the menu option ‘settings.’
- Proceed with Step #1
- Click ‘Settings’ on your drop-down menu.
- Once your settings are opened, scroll all the way down until you see ‘advanced’ at the bottom of the page. This will show more settings options.
- Under ‘Privacy and security’ you will find ‘Clear browsing data.’
- Click ‘Clear browsing data’ and proceed with Step #2 (C through F)
