Email-based Platform - What You Need to Know!
The new loyalty platform requires that your customers enroll with an email address. There’s a good chance that your existing loyalty member list is not complete with email addresses, as the former system only required a phone number.
This means that those accounts cannot be migrated over automatically. But don’t worry! We have a plan…
STEP 1:
To mitigate the number of accounts that are missing email addresses, we’ll first need to action a list cleanup. All you’ll have to do is download your active client list with phone and email only.
The UPbook team will sync the lists and create a sheet containing only those clients that are still missing email addresses. This sheet will include first name, last name, phone number, and point balance.
STEP 2:
You now have two options for how you’d like to handle the ‘no email address’ loyalty client list:
Option 1: Import the sheet into your PMS to make a note on each account with the carry-over point balance to be handled at checkout. As these clients visit, your team will help get them enrolled into the new platform where their points will start fresh.
Option 2: Keep the sheet as a reference at the Front Desk so that as those clients visit, the team can get them enrolled into the new platform and immediately add their carry-over points to their new card.
🙀 What if my client doesn’t have an email address?!
The good news is that we have a workaround for this! We’ll host placeholder email addresses on our side for these cases. Since you can fully utilize the platform without requiring your clients to use the digital loyalty cards (see how that works here), you can enroll on their behalf following a specific email address structure:
[practice name]+[phone number]@uprewards.co
Ex: practicename+5551234567@uprewards.co
You would then use a master password for these accounts, keeping it simple (practicename1234).
This email address structure allows us to create these accounts at no additional cost. Your team would handle these client accounts using the Loyalty dashboard only.
If you have a client under this setup who would like to update the account to a new email address at some point, your team will be able to log into the account with the master password and edit the profile with the new address.
